The Long Tanid Micro Hydro is a community-based project. This model has been develop and refine by Tonibung for the last 20 years. Tonibung together with the help of the Long Tanid community build a 20kwh Micro hydro system. The project primarily sets out to address the use of fossil-fuelled generators for electricity in Kg Long Tanid Sarawak, provide important GHG emissions reductions and a model for sustainable electricity supply in rural Malaysia.
The Micro Hydro system provide villagers with abundant, reliable 24-hour electricity at a lower cost than its currently available through the use of diesel generators.
