The main purpose of this project is to end hunger by providing food to the poor and urging the public to stop wasting food and donate to the needy to address hunger issues of the old folks, homeless and low-income people.
PROJECT RESULT
People who are suffering from hunger, especially the less fortunate people, low income, elders who do not own a job and without income, these people are getting their hunger fulfilled through the food donated by the public and stored in the shared fridge. besides, this project also seeks for professional Chinese Traditional physician who is willing to give free Chinese Tradition check-up by checking the pulse and giving medical advices. Many people took part in contributing edible food to Station 611 and helping to end hunger by sharing these food to those in need, because the food support goes in line with the shared fridge and people in need had visited Station 611 to end their hunger with the food shared by the community and stored in the shared fridge. Sharing of the “lunch filled with love” ensured that the needy are no longer suffering from hunger, by giving them filling nutritious lunch prepared by the volunteers and contributed by the donors. At the same time, Station 611 also act as an interesting and loving community centre for the old folks and local residents, it’s a time whereby they can enjoy social interactions.
HOW HAS THIS PROJECT HELP TO ADVANCE THE CHOSEN SDG?
The goal of this project is to improve the inequality and end hunger by giving those in need food and support. Monetary and food
donations contributed have enabled this project to nourish local people who are suffering from hunger and poverty, by providing
food through our shared fridge and “lunch filled with love”. The inequality is reduced whereby the people living in poverty gets
better and nutritious food from this project, while at the same time, the hunger problem is solved as they are feed full with the
shared food, thus advancing the Sustainable Development Goal of Reduced Inequalities and Zero Hunger.
WHAT IMPACT HAS THIS PROJECT CREATED IN THE COMMUNITY / NATION?
Being the social community centre to the local community, Station 611 increased the social interactions among the local community, it’s a place where people get together and learn new things together. Counselling and prayer session are also conducted to give those in need the encouragement and spiritual support. The community centre had also given the old folks / homeless / volunteer a place to spend their time, doing volunteer job, and for gathering and social interaction purpose. As for the homeless / jobless, we will always refer them to other agencies which helps them not only on food but also in getting a job. This project ensures that people in need are feed with the shared food, they become full and contented.

The food support initiative from this project has given arise to the social community conscious to appreciate food and donate to those in need. Awareness of eliminating waste of food in the society. This project had open up volunteers’ and public views of the inequalities. Volunteers who take part in this project often find their participation as a life accomplishment and are filled with happiness for contributing back to the society. From this project, we are always giving away free nutritious food to those in need. On the other hand, professional Chinese Traditional physician is also invited to provide free Chinese Tradition check-up by checking the pulse and giving medical advice.
