ENAPAK PACKING

As an environmentally conscious corporation, Enapak Packaging Sdn Bhd pioneers the industry in Northern Malaysia in the production and application of honeycomb board, pallet, packaging materials solution by adopting to a cogent technology, which is by resulting to the structure of honeycomb paperboard core being cohered with a number of papers by paste, or tensile process. We have carried out many projects involving paper core, angle port, paper packaging, carton box, and angle protector. In the process of transferring goods, a meticulous proceeding is to be taken place, labour intensive and solid materials to ensure the custodial care of the merchandise. As for all the materials are fashionably 100% wood-based, we employ an alternative that reduces usages of wood material to only 30% of content. Every step we take is to ensure a sustainable future of the forest for next generation to cherish. We hope that this effort can alleviate the worsening condition of our beloved mother nature.

PROJECT RESULT

All honeycomb-based products are recyclable, and biodegradable, which will not cause pollution if disposed. We work hand in hand with MNC like Honeywell, First Solar and many more. The application of honeycomb board is beyond creativity and innovation to many fields such as packing materials, paper pallets, storage boxes, warehousing racks, building materials and even furniture. It is considered as a “green” technology in efforts to save our environment as it could replace the use of industrial wood in many applications. As such, honeycomb is favorable to many countries that adopt a green concept and welcome environment friendly products. By implementing such break-through, we will be able to reduce the humans’ voracious appetite and destruction to virgin forests which have been eroding at an alarming rate. Our agenda should be able to trigger many players to envisage our initiative to become a reality that needs collaborations from all sectors. We positively believe that our cause is going to save more trees for a greener earth by replacing the conventional wooden and plywood pallets and packing materials (our technology allows 30% less wood usage in raw material), help the paper carton industry to reduce cost, further improve the economy and employment opportunity for more manually complicated procedures that require more manpower.

WHAT IMPACT HAS THIS PROJECT CREATED IN THE COMMUNITY / NATION?

Technology as such is the primary source in economic development bring a huge impact to our nation. First of all, this project offers substantial cost saving to the industry and indirectly impacts the economy. Honeycomb board has better bearing ability means lesser raw materials needed. This is also a good alternative for corrugated boards with its exceptional shock absorbency it offers protection for many uses. It can also be easily shaped or cut, adapting to the exact solution required. It has exceptional compression strength, higher than plywood, due to its hexagonal inner cellular structure, hence also suitable for heavy duty uses. Project honeycomb also increases employment opportunity of the nation due to the more complicated procedures that require more manpower to operate.

HOW HAS THIS PROJECT HELP TO ADVANCE THE CHOSEN SDG?

To turn this goal into reality, Enapak trains its focus on promoting sustainable industrialization and fosters innovation. The Enapak Project showcases a technology that aptly revolutionizes cardboard packaging that drives the world’s economy, and protective packaging industry which cocoons transferred goods during long-distance transportation, shipping and handling. As the highlight of this showcase, this technology only requires 30% less wood based raw material that helps to conserve the environment, but also produces a product that is a wonderful alternative for common corrugated boards due to its nature which is lighter but much stronger and wear-resistant. Conclusively, we are driven to achieve the goal of sustainable industrial development, advocates living standards and environmentallysound industrialization.

THE TAGLINE FOR UNITED NATIONS SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS (UNSDGS) IS “LEAVING NO ONE BEHIND.” EXPLAIN HOW YOUR PROJECT HELPS TO REALIZE THE COMMITMENT OF UNSDGS FOR THE FUTURE.

As we are advancing, the Enapak Project never forgets to realize the commitment of UNSDG “Leaving No One Behind”. While we are producing and marketing a sophisticated product which has the potential to revolutionize the industry, we are actively contributing to the welfare of Malaysians and people of the world at large by creating employment opportunities exponentially in the industry. We are taking together with us everyone, every endeavor and every possibility to progress further, leaving nothing and no one to be stagnant. The Enapak Project has also directly and indirectly created positive impact to people and society, in tandem with “Goal 8: Promote inclusive and sustainable economic growth, employment and decent work for all”. On top of that, the Enapak Project is also lauding UNSDG’s “Goal 15: Sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, halt and reverse land degradation, halt biodiversity loss”. Our technology which drastically reduces wood usage as raw materials by 30%, is one of the immediate and important solutions to the thirteen million hectares of yearly deforestation, the persistent degradation of drylands and desertification, stunting sustainable development and affecting the lives and livelihoods of millions of people in the fight against poverty.
