Terasek E Hydra

Terasek E Hydra Sdn. Bhd., a subsidiary of Terasek Group, focuses on tertiary treatment of sewage water into industrial grade water (Reclaimed Water). Terasek is Malaysia’s market leader in water delivery. Being in the business of transporting water nationwide for almost three decades, Terasek understands the importance of water availability for continuous business process operations. As such, Terasek E Hydra was formed to address this issue.

Terasek E Hydra is currently working actively with Indah Water Konsortium (IWK) to market treated sewage water to various industrial users. The collaboration started in November 2016 and the construction of the Terasek E Hydra’s Synergy Treatment Plant started in December 2016 and recently completed in April 2017.

Up to date, we are treated more than 200,000 cubic meter which is 150 Olympic size swimming pool. At November 2018, Setia Alam water treatment plant complete, there will be every day treated 5000 cubic meter wastewater. We believe No water no life, no blue no green. Without water, everything is nothing. Together we can solve the water shortage issue in very soon.

MALAYSIA 1ST RECYCLE WATER PROGRAM

Terasek is Malaysia’s market leader in water delivery. Being in the business of transporting water nationwide for almost three decades, Terasek understands the importance of water availability for continuous business process operations. As such, Terasek E Hydra was formed to address this issue.

Terasek E Hydra is currently working actively with Indah Water Konsortium (IWK) to market treated sewage water to various industrial users. The collaboration started in November 2016 when IWK had intentions to generate more financial support for their growing plant by selling their treated sewage water that is being discharged back to the river. The construction of the Terasek E Hydra’s Synergy Treatment Plant started in December 2016 and recently completed in April 2017.

By 2019, Terasek E Hydra will complete the construction of their second treatment plant that is targeting to supply up to 20 % of client’s daily water needs.

0.6 percent Klang valley water usage provide up to 200,00 m3 of water has been treated and delivered.

What impact has this project created in the community/nation?

Ensure no water crisis in future for Malaysia.The system has also helped increased recycling rate to 17%. Malaysia aims to achieve a recycling rate of 20% by 2020.Higher recycling rate means better environment quality and help reduce carbon footprint and greenhouse gas while helping the poor to generate supplement income.

How has this project help to advance the chosen SDG?

The project help extends water supply to those who need it and treat wastewater for the nation.

This project is necessary for Malaysia as part of United Nations member, to become a developed nation without harming the environment and public welfare. Reclaim water is part of the sustainable method to handle growing population and balance the exploration for more water source from the natural river.
